Ducdame

Ducdame is game by Jaques which was published around 1890. The name probably comes from Shakespeare as the character Jaques in As You Like It uses this word and it is probably a nonsense word, explained later by the character to mean a ‘Greek invocation, to call fools into a circle’. A brilliant name for a game which brings people around a board to play. The game has coloured pieces: 10 blue, 10, white, 10 red and 30 yellow. The idea is for players to place their coloured pieces in sequence on a board and attempt to get colours into a straight line while also blocking other players from achieving the same. The Collection has two sets of the game, both are incomplete with one coloured counter missing in one set and six missing in the other. The boards are included and one set has the printed rules.
