Pounce was a cat and mouse game which Jaques devised using 4 ceramic mice, 2 cats and a dice. The board shows squares and holes for the mice to travel ‘through’ to other parts of the board, the rules point out that no cat can follow. The player using the mice must avoid the mouse being caught on a white square as a cat from any direction might pounce and remove it from play.
