Snakes and Ladders was first published by Jaques around 1890 to 1900, and has gone on to become a staple in worldwide gaming, providing centuries of entertainment to generations of ladder climbing enthusiasts across the globe. It is believed to have been a game played in India, with the intention to educate youngsters in their faith. Good deeds being rewarded by ladders, and bad deeds by falling down the snakes.
