Three Garrisons was hailed as a new military game and Jaques produced it around 1850. A game for two players, one took the 21 pieces or Men, placed in the centre of the board and the other player took the 6 Officers, placing 2 in each Garrison. The idea being a game of strategy in which the Officers must defend their Garrison and the Men advance into theses areas in order to take them. Officers can remove a man if there is a vacant space behind this piece for them to jump into.
