Candid Confessions was published by Jaques around1905. The cards are printed in colour and arranged in pairs, so they offer a question and answer which must be correctly matched. The 30 Question cards are laid down in a pile on the table. The Answer cards are shuffled and dealt. The stating player turns over the top card on the table and asks the Question – the person with the Answer lays it down responding ‘I do’ or ‘I am’ as required. The correct Answer wins the player the two cards and the winner is the person who holds the last Answer card when all but this have been declared. The amusing illustrations no doubt gave rise to much laughter. Like the majority of Jaques’ indoor games, the game was instructive as well as fun to play, fostering the rules of good behaviour. This pack is in the original box with the rules leaflet. 3 question cards are missing leaving 57 cards.
